Super fun sat

Haiz.... Home PC down, HDD crashed so now can onli use notebook from office and worse thing is this set is meant for SMU for demo. Now tapping on my kind neighbour's wireless network and surfing for free. haha....bo pian, ppl stupid dun know how to secure their network so cannot blame me hor, Anyway they are jus being kind i guess. think i can jus terminate my broadband account and invest on a wireless network card instead. Sounds more feasible huh....hahaha EVIL....

Anyway, i had a super wonderful and fun saturday yesterday on the 18/06/05, participated in a car rally expedition thingy organised by IBM and SIS. I didnt feel like participating initially but the sales rep from SIS came to our office and asked us to join so i just sort of like entertain and joined the event, never expecting it to be so fun.

Its not a race, nothing like a race but its something like amazing race. We gathered at a big carpark opp delta house jus beside gan eng seng school, registered and were given IBM stickers and decals to stick on my BLACK LANCER. I joined the event with another two of my colleague, Joel and Velene. there was another team from my company also and they were an all gal team from the commercial sales team and when i saw their car, i couldnt believe my eyes, as there was a best dress car contest for $500, they decorated their until like malay wedding of hari raya lor.... a bit pai say to be in the same company as them that very day.....

oh yah, the top prize for the race was $1500, followed by $1000 and $500. i told velene and joel that we have to get the top prize no matter wat as we were all out of money liow. anyway back to the race, we decorated the car and an IBMer was assigned to be attached with my team. A cute gal called Shu Yin from IBM, haha happy like fuck lor.....got two cute gals in my car, dun mind anything liow....now u know why i enjoyed myself that much that day?? haha

the race started with a mission to unscrew one tire nut and show it to the marshaller to get the clue to the next checkpoint, did that without much effort and had to borrow the nut to my other colleague cos they cant find their nut wrench. Sometimes i wonder, wat else do women know besides shopping? anyway, the first location clue was pretty easy, CLUE1: name after a breed of DOG.....instantly, i shouted labrador park.....too easy lah....headd there and follow the car in front into the wrong carpark and i was smart as i knew there were two carpark at labrador park and after seeing so many participant loitering ard there, i immediately know that its at the other carpark and was i right or was i right...clever clever me.

we were handed a 10 questions questionaire and were suppose to run around the park looking for answers. and cos of our speed and intelligence ( the two gals were not bimbo la), we finished first and headed to the next location immediately which is over at clarke quay. its actually not the speed that counts, its the number of questions you answered correctly.

We were the first to reach clarke quay and there was a break as we reach there too fast haha....after that, we were asked to put together a jigsaw puzzle and answer the question on it and get a stamp and proceed to clarke quay riverside where we were given another questionaire and started searching for answer and after the questions, driver drives the car over to UOB building and the rest of the team take the river taxi over where on it they have to do certain task to complete yet another questionaire....heng i drive ah but also sad that i miss the boat ride cos i had never been on it before, wat a waste....

after that, on to the next destination which is macdonald next to west coast park. Very nice place which i didnt know existed. its basically heaven for kids i can say.
the whole team have to climb up the spider web thingy and touch the top of the highest point in order to proceed. and we reached there quite late due to the fact that we finish the clarke quay questionaire very late. so have to wait for the teams whom reached there first lor, we had nothing to do and went to play the flying fox thingy at the children play park.....haha, like over grown kids like that.... but we had fun and finally its our turn to climb the thing. we were not bad, all very sporting and flexible and of cos for me no problem at all lah, at least cannot lose face in front of cute gals rite??? completed it and given another set of questionaire again and this time its questions on IBM products and bad thing is i am only familiar with thinkpad and there were questions regarding IBM servers and Storage.....we finished the questionaires nevertheless and proceeded to the diner destination which is nearby, Republic of Singapore Yatch Club. Nice club and the dinner was buffet and before the prize presentation, there were games which had me twice carrying velene.....KNS, i big size then always kena this kind of shit job but joel was worse, he had to take off his top and kiss another man.....his task even more shit. anyway we didnt win anything except a washing board but we really had fun. After the dinner, i sent everyone home as we all lived nearby. with that, a fantastic and funtastic sat ended and was very glad to know Shu Yin, the cute pretty gal from IBM Client team GSMB. very fruitful sat indeed.

Hope to have this kind of activities more often and i will try to get some photos from the organiser and try to post them online. in the meanwhile, Take care and Cheers!!!

Regards,
Teddy
